Rumors have been circulating around for years that actor Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith have an open relationship. Whether it’s true or not, we always still wondered. Will recently sat down with the UK Sun for an in-depth interview into his marriage with long-time wife, Jada. He admitted that things were not always picture-perfect, as we’d imagine any marriage to have it’s issues.

“Whatever you have is gonna die and you are gonna have to rebirth something new,” explained Will when he was asked to give a general synopsis of his marriage. “You have to be willing to ride the waves. There’s gonna be some flat days and some stormy days, and that has to be OK.”

Jada also agreed with Will’s statement and added that the rules they once established in their relationship only complicated things. “Will, to me, encompasses everything. It’s almost as if calling him ‘my husband’ is too small of a word for what he means in my life… I think I had a very stuck idea of what a husband looks like, what a wife should be. Once I broke all of that, a whole new world opened for me and man, oh, man, I got to see him in all his glory. And so that’s what it’s evolved into. And I’m just ecstatic about it.”
