As fans we never quite know sometimes just how friendly or non-friendly teammates in sports are with each other. Sure it seems like everything is fine from the outside, but you never know. According to reports, everything in OKC wasn’t too cool regarding Reggie Jackson and some of his now former teammates. There is no doubt trading Jackson was better for everyone involved, but KD & Russell Westbrook kinda threw some shots towards him which leads you to believe there were other reasons behind the trade besides just basketball.

Reggie Jackson seemed to have a genuine friendship with Westbrook and KD, but it sounds like looks can be deceiving. Perhaps it was just Reggie being frustrated feeling he was a starting point guard, but knowing he was never going to start over Russell. It was fine for a few seasons, but eventually anyone is going to want to start, and make no mistake, Reggie Jackson is talented enough to start and he will for his new team in Detroit most likely. It appears Reggie has been rubbing his teammates the wrong way for a while now.

The feeling must have been mutual because when he found out about the trade, he tweeted “Crying tears of Joy #GodisGreat”. NOBODY is that damn happy to get traded from a contender like OKC, to a basement type of team with the Pistons, unless there was some real hostility and he wanted to be sarcastic.

When the rumors of a possible trade were swirling, Westbrook didn’t hold back when asked about Jackson leaving.

“We have a chance of winning a championship and if Reggie is not here we still have a chance of winning a championship”, Westbrook said.

Kevin Durant while speaking with an OKC reporter shed what he though after the trade went down:

You can tell something about Jackson’s attitude was dividing the team and affecting morale, but he is gone now so OKC has no excuse to not come together and go hard for a deep run in the playoffs and possibly a title.
