I sincerely hope this is not true, because even as a Giants fan I love watching Dez Bryant play. Let me just emphasize the word “alleged” here, but there are reports that there is a video involving Dez Bryant that plays out similar to the Ray Rice incident when he struck his then fiance and now wife, Janay. According to insiders around the NFL, the video has been known about for some time now and the possibility of it existing is part of the reason the Cowboys have been in slow motion as far as a new contract for Dez. So if it potentially exist, how come nobody has seen it?

“Shan & RJ’’on 105.3 The Fan are only doing their jobs. Far from being Dallas Cowboys “haters’’ — they are in fact the morning show of the official Cowboys station — they’ve bumped into a rumor regarding Dez Bryant and an “incriminating’’ video tape. They are poking around the potential story, and tiptoeing a bit, too … but not ignoring it.

On Friday, a show guest was Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, who also attempted to tiptoe around whether the story is an “urban legend,’’ as he carefully noted … but in doing his job, bulled forward with an insistence of how “well-known’’ this rumor is, and how impactful it is regarding Bryant’s contract negotiations with Dallas.

“It’s one of the best-kept secrets in the media,’’ Florio said. “A story that all of the major insiders know about, known about it for months, involving a video tape. … (and the) Cowboys are aware of it.’’

And what impact does that alleged “awareness’’ have?

“Because of that and possible other reasons,’’ Florio reports, “the Cowboys been very reluctant to commit major money to him. I don’t know that (the video) does exist … it relates to off-field concerns … that’s just the chatter, that there’s video … and the Cowboys are afraid it will come out and have a Ray Rice-like type of an impact. … People think that’s what’s keeping the Cowboys from a long-term commitment.’’

Now there are some holes in this story, but you still never know, because nobody damn sure expected Ray Rice to do that either and nobody seemed to see the video of that incident until well after that night either.

But still, I don’t know about you guys, but prior to yesterday I never once heard this rumor, that still doesn’t mean it’s false and I am sure the reporter wasn’t making the story up, but it is possible he had bad knowledge of the alleged incident.

I find it hard to believe the Cowboys with all the money and resources available to them would not have been able to dig up this so called video and know it exist for a fact. Still, it is very interesting how slow Dallas is moving with Dez, as if there is something off the field that’s giving them pause.

Well Dez himself heard about the rumor yesterday and posted the message(in the gallery above).

So obviously you can count Dez himself as someone who thinks the story is crap, and hopefully it is.
