I can’t say that I’m surprised. Again, the Department of Justice is the center of attention this week. George Zimmerman skated on thin ice, dodging civil charges in the shooting death of teen, Trayvon Martin. Just days later, the DOJ informs us that Darren Wilson, who resigned from his post after the shooting death of Ferguson, Mo. teen, Michael Brown, will also not be charged. In the latest investigation, the Department of Justice claims that Wilson did not violate any of Brown’s civil rights.

“According to these witnesses, who are corroborated by blood evidence in the roadway,” the inquiry states, “as Brown continued to move toward Wilson, Wilson fired at Brown in what appeared to be self defense and stopped firing once Brown fell to the ground.”

The news comes after the DOJ also made it clear that Ferguson police are known to show racial bias against black individuals in the small town. Shame.

In related news, the other Darren Wilson has been suspended from the Ferguson police force. The other Darren Wilson was given the nickname after he was mistakingly identified and the killer of Mike Brown. The other Wilson, also a police officer and has been since ’97, is on unpaid leave from the force, following an internal investigation. Although the St. Louis police are not giving exact answer, the suspension is said to be connected to missing funds from the Ethical Society of Police, a group that represents black police officers. Wilson is the former president of that group.

Tsk Tsk.
