New Bill Will Make It Illegal For You To Record Police In Texas. So here are the facts police officers can record or not record themselves using a body camera, the radio or news cast can record, but the everyday person can’t. In fact if you record an officer within 100ft of an incident you can get a misdemeanor. This sounds real shady to me! Doesn’t this violate the the first amendment? What do you think?. New Bill Will Make It Illegal For You To Record Police In Texas. the Bill hasn’t been passed yet but they are really pushing for it.

The restrictive House Bill 2918, introduced by Texas Representative Jason Villalba (R-Dallas), states that only a “radio or television that holds a license issued by the Federal Communications Commission, a newspaper that is qualified under section 2051.044 or a magazine that appears at a regular interval would be allowed to record police,” according to the Houston Chronicle.

This definitely seems suspicious. The public shouldn’t be reprimanded because they witness law enforcement doing bad things. They are only saying this because of situations like Eric Garner. If people were catching police officers doing good deeds then it would be fine to film. Bad cops should be exposed and good cops should be praised. Using excuses like, “oh he was a rookie cop” isn’t good enough. People are dying and getting a lot of jail time.

No one is making stories up or exaggerating it’s evidence showing cops breaking the rules like going into Wikipedia and changing word like unarmed to armed. There is no integrity. I think this bill is going to lead to more racial profiling so now you can get a misdemeanor if you’re not 100 ft away from an officer that’s wild. What happens if someone is 80 ft away? The law enforcement needs to get the courage to terminate all of the bad apples period . What are your thought? Is this bill legit or a way to keep things in the closet?
