Mo’Ne Davis captured the world’s attention during the Little League playoffs and she’s been like a shooting star ever since.  The 13-year old star athlete is quite the role model for young girls and now she’s giving back and becoming a mogul at the same time.

Mo’Ne Davis has teamed up with M4D3 (Make A Difference Everyday) to create her very own sneaker line. Proceeds from Davis’ sneaker sales will go to Plan’s Because I am a Girl initiative to eradicate child poverty that heavily affects young girls.

Of her new endeavor, Davis shared, “I never thought at the age of 13 I’d be a role model, but having young girls look up to me is pretty cool. If I can inspire them to reach their goals, that would be even cooler. Designing shoes with M4D3 is exciting and I wanted them to support Because I am a Girl to help girls and give them a chance at a better future.”

M4D3’s ambassador Lisa Zbitnew gave insight on why the brand partner with Davis and said:

“So partnering with her is such a natural fit for M4D3! We are creating a shoe that we know Mo’ne fans will love and be proud of, and that will Make A Difference Everyday. Together with Mo’ne, we are designing a shoe that represents who she is; contemporary, spirited and athletic, but at the same time being very caring towards other girls and young women that are vulnerable around the world. Earlier this year, we launched a collection of sneakers with Plan International USA for the Because I am a Girl initiative, and we are thrilled to expand this lineup with the Mo’ne shoe.”

The Mo’Ne shoe collection was designed by both Davis and M4D3 and was inspired by the stitching on a baseball. On the sneaker, consumers can expect to see the Throw Like A Girl heel tag, Because I am a Girl tag on the tongue and the M4D3 logo on the heel, foot-bed and sole plate. Davis’s collection will be offered in four different colors and priced at $75.
