A week later and Kendrick [Lamar] is still trending on Twitter. The TDE rapper released To Pimp A Butterfly a little early, and fans all around the world are grabbing copies. Following his New York stop (so angry at myself for missing that), Kendrick heads over to the west coast, the place that started it all, for a signing of the album that has set a new Spotify record. “It feels good to be back in my city,” K. Dot tells ABC7.

Fans lined up outside a Best Buy in Compton to get a glimpse of the TDE artist that’s setting trends.
“I wanna say thank you. Thank you for believing in me since day one. I’ve been doing my thing on the underground scene for years, you know, proud to be putting out any albums,” he said. “These the same people that have been rocking with me so I want to say thank you for believing in me and I believe in you the same, so as long as we believe in each other, I will continue to do this music.”
