On Saturday , a 50 year old man by the name of Walter Scott was shot dead by a 33 year old police officer after being pulled over for a traffic violation. The shooting was caught on tape.

On Wednesday (April 8th) demonstrators gathered outside North Charleston city hall and held a moment of silence for Walter Scott, who was fatally shot in the back while running from police.
Walter Scott’s family plans to file a civil lawsuit against the police department . North Charleston police officer Michael Slager has been charged with murder.
The shooting was caught on tape by a bystander and the video shows Slanger firing his gun eight times while Walter Scott runs away. Slager was arrested on Tuesday and charged with murder after the police saw the video.
The Family was interviewed by ABC News , which included Walter Scott’s Mother, brother and lawyer.
Walter Scott’s mother. Judy Scott said ” When I looked at that tape, that was the most horrible thing I’ve ever seen”
She also said ” I almost couldn’t look at it. To see my son running defenselessly being shot, it just tore my hear to pieces. And I Just pray that this doesn’t have to happen to another person. This has got to stop.”
Walter Scott’s father said ” When I saw it, I fell to my feet and my heart was broken.”
Walter Scott Sr. was disgusted with how naturally the cop resulted to shooting his son, comparing his ease to kill his son to a man shooting a deer.
The Brother of Walter Scott, Anthony Scott added words that were f=very similar, as he feels that his brother was gunned down like an animal. “It was just unbelievable to watch” Anthony Scott said.
