With the latest releases of cars, you have probably been able to check the weather, traffic and control your music through its dashboard, but technology continues to evolves as now your full phone’s feature can be managed through the dashboard. Apple has announced that within the next year, Carplay will be available as an option on as many as 40 new vehicle models.

But don’t worry, you don’t have to buy a new ride to keep up with technology. Pioneer Electronics is the first to display the device that will let you connect your Apple or Android smartphones into your car, making it simple to maneuver.

Apple Carplay and Android Auto lets you control apps, make and receive phone calls, read and respond text messages and handle emails without putting a finger on your phone. Apple continues to keep its consistency through products and gives you the same look as its other iProducts, making the app icons and signal strength identical as the ones on your phone screen.Android auto clashed with the look of Google to give you the similarities of a GPS. The icons will be the same as in the Android devices, but the way notifications and other information will be shown like Google Now.

The Pioneer Network Entertainment eXperience line of in-dash multimedia receivers will allow you to stay connected while on the road. Although all apps will not be allowed to be used (for obvious reasons), most apps will be available to use. You will be able to switch between both Carplay and Android Auto, so it can benefit different users.

The Apple Carplay and Android Auto requires for your smartphones to be updated to a certain operating system in order to be used. For Carplay, you will need an iPhone 5 or later, and all androids need to be run on 5.0 lollipop.

This new technology sounds great, but it’s not pocket friendly. The base model AHV-4100NEX DVD receiver runs for about $700. The AVIC-7100NEX features Pioneer’s full blown navigation system and real time traffic information, which will cost $1,200. The high end model , AVIC-8100NEX, will run you $1,400 but will bring you the ultimate experience of the intertainment system.
