2014 NBA Finals - Practice and Media Availability

Miami Heat president Pat Riley explained the team’s approach to this year’s NBA Draft and said “No more smiling faces with hidden agendas, so we’ll be going in clean.”  Many people took that as a shot at LeBron James after the Hear drafted Shabazz Napier to please James and LeBron later surprised Riley by leaving the Heat and returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers.  LeBron was asked about Riley’s comments and here’s what he had to say.

via Dave McMenamin of ESPN:

“I’m unaware,” James said. “Whatever he said, for me, it’s not my concern right now. My concern is Game 2. I have no notion of what transpired yesterday.”

“I don’t care about nonsense,” James said. “There’s too much nonsense out there. This is a time where I lock in right now and I don’t need nothing creeping into my mind for no reason that don’t need to be there. I put all my energy and effort toward this team, that’s all that matters.”

LeBron is right, this is no time to focus on nonsense like that.  In any event, the Miami Heat are home while the Cavaliers are competing in the playoffs which James needs to focus on.  The Cavaliers by the way beat the Celtics 99-91 on Tuesday night and took a 2-0 series lead.  LeBron finished with a major 30 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists; he seems fully focused to me.
