Former Florida State Seminoles Quarterback and expected number 1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft, “Famous” Jameis Winston, says he never stole the Crab Legs that cost him a one game suspension earlier in the year. Known for having many off the field troubles through out his college career, such as being accused for rape and screaming profanities in the student union, Winston needs all the help he can get in clearing some of the questions weighing on his maturity.

Winston claims that the crab legs were given to him by a Tallahassee super market employee who ‘Hooked him up,’ and when he left the store security was given word that he left without paying for the items. Winston also claimed that this wasn’t the first time he received free items at that location.

“Well, a week before, it was my buddy’s birthday and we had got a cake. And we met a dude that worked inside Publix and he said, ‘Hey, anytime you come in here, I got you.’ So that day we just walked out and he hooked us up with that,” Winston said.

“And when I came in to get crab legs, I did the same thing and he just gave them to me and I walked out. And someone from inside the store had told the security that I didn’t pay for them. And that’s how the whole thing started.”

If the NCAA had gotten the word that Winston had been receiving free items at the grocery store he may have lost his NCAA eligibility, so in hindsight, the suspension may have been the best punishment to take at the time.
