Google has just announced its new wireless service called Project Fi. It really Looks amazing! With no annual contract, and pay for nothing more then what you use. The basic plan is $20/month, with that you get voice and text. As an add on to the plan for internet service you would pay $10 per gig per month. Google will also refund you for all unused data!

Besides a super affordable plan, google will allow users while on a call to go back and fourth between cellular (a deal with Sprint and T-mobile to help provide the service) and Wi-Fi signals. Im sure thats to ensure a lower dropped call rate. Google will also save your phone number in their systems so that you may answer calls from your phone, laptop, tablet or desktop. So whats the catch? Well, like most things Google you need an invite to the service and its only available on the Google Nexus 6 phone.

This isn’t Googles first venture into the wireless world. In 2010, They jumped into internet access for home use. Even way back in 2005 they acquired a small company you might have heard of called Android. Android went on to be the OS of 80% of smartphones around the world. Project Fi might be a smaller launch, but Google may come out on top at the end. Will slow and steady win this race? Apple (and Tatwza) may have something to say about that.
