Once you hear the word “Jackpot” you will be so excited that you will actually not know what to do. Well this 90- year old lady didn’t even get to relax. Once she hit the jackpot, the casino told her she didn’t really win. Find out why after the jump.
90- year old Pauline McKee didn’t even get too excited when she seen the sign on her penny machine that she won $41.8 million. She actually thought it was a lie since the penny machines have a jackpot of only $10,000. However, when the casino chose to only credit her $1.85 and a free night at the casino, she know other actions had to be taken.
The Isle Casino in Iowa did not pay McKee because the machine has a disfunction. Although she was not looking forward to such of a big payout, she did feel as if she was deserving of some type of pay.
“Casinos are required to post rules and follow those rules. If either the patrons or casinos could change the rules in the middle of the game, it would be absolutely chaos,” she said.
Now if the casino would have paid McKee the amount displayed on the machine, their next step would have been bankruptcy.
The manufacturers of the machine states that there is a glitch in the machine that shows a strange payout, and tells casinos to disable the bonus option. In that case, you would think Pauline McKee would get paid right? Wrong.
Pauline isn’t too upset over the situation, she just wish she could of helped her family with the money that she rightfully earned.
