Floyd Mayweather has dabbled with the thought of retirement for a while now, but with his huge fight with Pacquiao coming up, could this be the fight that makes him call it quits? We all know they don’t call Mayweather “Money” for no reason, so is the fights paycheck so fat that he’s is ready to hang it up for good?

Mayweather is on the cusp of hitting age 40– ancient in boxing years– and he realizes father time doesn’t have much more time for him to continue boxing at a high level.

With that realization, Mayweather needs to consume as many huge paydays while he can. Mayweather expects to pocket over 200 million after fighting Pacquio, Mayweather describes that kind of payday as something that will “make sure my children’s children are secure.”

At the end of the day, Mayweather views himself as more than just a boxer; he says he’s also a savvy businessman.

“Investment. I look at things in a business aspect,” he said. “If we just say each one of my kids from this fight … $50 million apiece — I think I made a smart move.”

“My team has done a remarkable job to put my kids in a very comfortable position,” he said a bit later. “I don’t just want to give props to all my team because I did it too. I had a vision.”

Mayweather has announced retirement before -after boxing De La Hoya- but soon found himself in a boxing ring 7 months later.

“I’m human. I contradict myself,” he said during his meeting with reporters Tuesday. “We all contradict ourselves. I strive to be a perfectionist. No one is perfect. I strive to be. But I contradict myself. … I contradict myself. Whoop-de-doo. I have to live with myself. Nobody else does.”

Will Mayweather retire? Who knows. What we do know is, cut the check and Mayweather might do it.
