The musically inclined singer, hip-hop artist, and actor Common has joined the cast of the Barbershop 3 sequel!

The Grammy winner Common will star in the “Barber Shop 3” alongside the original Ice Cube and Cedric the Entertainer. Common has recently appeared in “Run All Night”, “Selma”, and the theme song “Glory”. The production has also added a new director, Malcolm D. Lee. You might know Lee from “The Best Man Holiday” and “Undercover Brother”.

As of now there is no clear clarification if the original cast will be returning or who the new cast would be. Neither is the story line for the sequel. The last Barber Shop was released in 2004 so it will be interesting to see who comes back after 11 years.

Here’s a little refresh, The Barber Shop was about a day in the life of a man in Chicago that inherited his father’s barbershop. Times get hard while he tries to keep the shop up while being a husband and father. The workers in the shop also deal with life situations that bring them all together as a family. As they help each other resolve their personal issues good things start to unfold in their life.

The sequel is in the makings as of right now, a release date has not been set.
