The Houston Rockets have one of the best sports team accounts on Twitter.  They’re very interactive and usually post cool videos, photos and funny tweets.  They found themselves in hot water last night however as they were about to beat the Dallas Mavericks .

The Rockets beat the Mavericks 103-94 eliminating Dallas from the playoffs and winning just their second playoff series in the last 18 years.  They were understandably excited but got a little too excited when they fired off this tweet.

They used a gun and horse (Mavericks) emojis, saying it’ll all be over soon.  As you may know, when a animal say a horse, is injured and dying, the owner sometimes puts them out of their misery by shooting and killing them.

Obviously it wasn’t a very politically correct thing to do; showcasing “violence” towards animals and not being “classy” sent Twitter into an uproar.  The Mavericks along with thousands of other people replied and the Rockets deleted the tweet and apologized.

I’m guessing someone, maybe an intern, lost their job last night.
