In Game 3, Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum accidentally elbowed Memphis Grizzlies guard Mike Conley in the face. McCollum’s elbow caught Conley in his left eye, fracturing bones around it. Conley left the game and had to undergo surgey to repair the fracture. The surgey was successful but caused some serious swelling in Conley’s face.  Conley returned during game 5 to support his teammates and wasn’t shy about his busted eye being on display.

During Game 5, TNT’s Lewis Johnson checked in with Conley. There was still significant swelling in his face, but as Conley told Johnson, it was a lot better than two days earlier when he couldn’t even open up his left eye.

In their brief chat, Conley informed Johson that he has two steel plates in his face now.
