Aston Martin has been known to be a top quality and performance luxury autombile maker for decades. They set a standard for elegance merged with performance that was so influential it is the staple car of every James Bond character. Aston Martin with it’s iconic status has secured funding from key shareholders and investors for a staggering 200 million euros which translates to about $305 million dollars American. This money has been allocated for the design of the new DBX SUV as well as other luxury models. The DBX SUV is supposed to be the first of three new Aston Martin models scheduled for release. It is a new 4-door crossover that Aston Martin hopes will appeal to buyers in places like Russia and China where they have areas with climates that wouldn’t be conducive to having a regular DB9 or Aston Martin Vanquish.

This is all apart of Aston Martin’s second century business plan which is to be implemented to keep the brand profitable and relevant in todays market. Despite its acclaim and reputation Aston Martin has in fact been bankrupt several times and this round of funding from Investindustrial and Tejara Capital is the second round of funding Aston Martin had with the first being capital for repairs and updates to all of their factories.

“This additional long-term funding will enable us to add extra model lines and broaden our presence in the luxury market segment by the end of the decade,” CEO Andy Palmer said in a statement. “The DBX concept has generated interest far beyond our expectations; the additional investment announced today will allow us to realize the DBX and other new luxury vehicles that will form the strongest and most diverse portfolio in our history.”
