Dorian Johnson was arrested and charged with resisting arrest in St. Louis on Wednesday (May 6). After receiving a call about a disturbance in a suburb of St. Louis, cops came to investigate the home where Johnson and his brother, Demonte, were also located. As the cops were searching someone who they believed to be carrying a weapon, Demonte tried to grab the officer’s arm to garner his attention.

After someone attempted to get Demonte away from the officer, Dorian ran over to the scene to try and defend his brother. Dorian continued to scream that the cops couldn’t arrest anyone then tried to dodge being arrested himself when a cop attempted to place him in cuffs. He’s facing one count of resisting arrest.

The charges were filed the same day as Dorian’s lawyer revealed their new lawsuit against the city of Ferguson, its former police chief, and former officer Darren Wilson. Johnson is suing for the psychological suffering and emotional distress he endured the day that Wilson stopped him and Brown. Johnson is demanding at least $25,000 in damages along with an injunction to stop the discriminatory police practices in Ferguson.

Meanwhile, Ferguson spokesman Jeff Small made a statement on Wednesday that the city was fully aware of Johnson’s lawsuit but chose not to comment pending litigation. Watch the news report courtesy of CBS.
