Ladies, attention … pick your jaws up off the floor and peep this.

FOX’s breakout hit, Empire is coming back full-throttle. Not only has Lee Daniels announouced its musical guests and acting features for season two, but the Lyon Brothers, – Hakeem, Jamal and Andre – have landed themselves on the cover of Essence magazine’s June issue. Four separate covers of Essence shows the guys as a collective and then Jussie Smollet, Bryshere “Yazz” Gray and Trai Byers have their own individual covers.

Of course, with four separate covers, we’re going to get four separate stories. There is Bryshere who talks about making his dreams come true no matter what the circumstance of life is, then Trai, who opens up about staying a part of the healthy lifestyle and last but not least, Jussie Smollett admits how he landed the role of Jamal Lyon.

Jussie Smollet, 32, when hearing about the show – from his sister Jazz Smollet – Lee Daniels was creating, took a long shot and reached out to him in a non-traditional way. “I jumped on Instagram and direct-messaged Lee and said, ‘Sir, I know you get this all the time, but I’m a singer, actor, dancer, songwriter and musician. I am Jamal Lyon in more ways than one.'”

You must make some way, why not a DM!
