A jury just ruled that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev will be put to death for his role in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings. The execution ruling required a unanimous decision from the jury, which convicted Tsarnaev last month of all 30 counts against him.

Eventually Tsarnaev will receive a date for his execution but we could be looking at years before it happens, if it indeed ever does. Tsarnaev’s brother who participated in the bombing with him died in a shootout with police during a manhunt for the brothers.
Three spectators were killed and more than 260 others wounded in the attacks near the marathon finish line on April 15, 2013. A Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer also was shot and killed days later.
