The NBA is a cut throat business at the end of the day. Lets just face it, there is no loyalty in the league when you are not producing results. After several seasons without making it to the big dance, it would not be a surprise in the least bit for the Bulls front office to hand Thibodeau the pink slip. There is a prospect in line though. It has to be hard question when the media asks if you are prepared to exit if your team does not make it to the finals. Thibodeau was faced with this question before game 6 even went down and his response was that he has no plans on leaving but if the time ever comes he would be ready. Those are just the realities of the NBA these days.

Although Thibodeau has not officially been handed the pink slip, there are a few qualified applicants ready for the position if an opening does come along. One candidate more than others probably has a better chance and that is Alvin Gentry. Gentry is the assistant coach under Steve Kerr with the Warriors and he has previously acted as head coach for the Phoenix Suns and was staffed on the Clippers as well.

Gentry has good experience but I’m not sold on this being the guy to have Joakim Noah and Derrick Rose finally take down LeBron and company. Where does that leave Thibodeau if he is ousted? Reports are saying that if he does end up getting the pink slip in Chi-Town, then he is a prime candidate in Orlando.
