IFWT_Odell Beckham Jr OBJ

There is an art to using your platform to get what you want these days and it looks like Odell Beckham Jr knows that. In a recent interview, ODB calls for NFL players to make more money. Click more to read the full story!

A conversation that goes back several years, has recently been bought up again but not from a player that has already left the league. Odell Beckham Jr believes players in the NFL should make significantly more money. As dangerous as the sport is, I think he makes a valid point.

Perhaps the most popular player in the league and coming off the rookie season of a lifetime, ODB recently just grabbed the Madden ’16 cover from Rob Gronkowski and he is taking full advantage of using his voice to make some things known around the league. In an interview with the Huffington Post, ODB was asked if he could change anything about the league, what would it be and he answered, “I think we should make more money, personally…this is a sport that is most watched in America…You have people running who can run 20 miles per hour and they’re running downhill to hit you…That’s a car wreck.” An age old story that keeps coming up and every time we hear it, it is somewhat unbelievable that the league has done nothing to change.

Although the NFL season is not as long as other sports, it is undeniable that it is far more dangerous than other sports as well. Many players end up having problems years later down the line and also find that they have not been compensated for those problems. ODB probably does not have to worry about money since he will most likely get some more great endorsements but what about the player that isn’t necessarily a star?
