Protesters assembled outide of City Hall in Olympia, Washington after another police shooting has taken place. A White officer gunned down two unarmed Black men, who were accused of trying to steal from a local supermarket.

The victims, Andre Thompson, 24, and Bryson Chaplin, 21, are stepbrothers and survived the shooting according to reports. They were rushed to a local hospital, Thompson was listed in serious critical condition and Chaplin was described as critical.

The incident began around when 1:15 AM when police were responding to a shoplifting call. The officer who shot the two men is Ryan Donald, 35 who has been with the Olympia Police Department for about three years. In his communication with the dispatch he told the dispatcher the men were unarmed. He said, He just assaulted me with a skateboard. I tried to, uh, grab his friend. They’re very aggressive, just so you know.”

According police reports, Donald shot the brothers who fled into the wood.They then came back out of the woods, and “the officer felt threatened and discharged his firearm” again.

The officer was put on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.

This is another act of police violence following the indictment Thursday of six Baltimore officers in the death of Freddie Gray, 25, who died while in police custody last month.
