Well, another police involved shooting took place in New Jersey that left one man dead. In what seems to be growing into normalcy these days, the police have yet again taken the life of another person. Despite early reports that Elvin Diaz pulled a knife on officers, it is unclear why two out of three officers on the scene unloaded their weapons on him.

Reports indicate that Diaz had a prior record that included arson, aggravated assault on an officer, and drugs. The aggravated assault on an officer could definitely be an indication of why police where ready to use lethal weapons instead of those that could disarm and take him down without deadly force.

Diaz was shot in an apartment on Temple Ave in Hackensack, NJ and was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The three officers involved were reportedly taken to the hospital as well with no injuries.

With growing concerns surrounding police involved shootings, it will be interesting to see how this story plays out because as we have seen in the past, initial reports are often found to have more to their stories.
