Well, alright now. Beginning next month, Azealia Banks plans to tour overseas, but the excitement for her does not stop there. The Harlem girl has stayed away from Twitter banter long enough – Kinda. Aside from her usual Iggy Azalea jabs – to land herself a role in the RZA-directed film, Coco.

Banks will star in the Lionsgate/Codeblack’s drama Coco as … Coco, an aspiring rap artist in Brooklyn who wants to leave her mark in the world of hip-hop (sound familiar), however, her parents would like it better if Coco finishes up college. While going the college route, the “twentysomething” year-old student finds a craft in spoken word, which just forces her back in the dream of rap; a career choice that turns out to be the one for her.

Coco will also star Common, Jill Scott, Lucien Laviscount, Lorraine Toussaint, and Hana Mae Lee. The drama is gearing up to begin production, soon.

This should be good. I am looking forward to see what else Banks can bring to the table. Although the film seems to have a predictable storyline, maybe this is the chance see another side of the female known to bring the drama … bring the noise.
