IFWT_Tom Thibodeau 1

This story surrounding ex-head coach, Tom Thibodeau, just keeps getting crazier. Apparently the Bulls front office had already interviewed and agreed to contract terms with Iowa State’s Fred Hoiberg before they even fired Tom Thibodeau. Sheesh! Click more to read the full story!

This new development seems to say that the Bulls truly were done with Thibs after this season ended–no matter what the outcome was. Thats means, even if the Bulls did win a championship, they still would have let Thibs go? Honestly, that concept is not even a hard one to grasp. Thibs has the second best coaching record in Bulls history–only second to Phil Jackson–and sixth overall best record for coaches that have played at least 300 games and the Bulls front office still let him go.

They disdain that went on behind the scenes must have truly been big enough that they wanted to no further association with such a great coach. Aside from the fact that the Bulls front office tarnished Tom’s name for potential jobs, it means they were interviewing potential coaches while the post-season was in play. SMH. If that isn’t crazy, then I don’t know what is.

The new head coach prospect, Fred Hoiberg, is said to have a $25 million deal that will pay out over five years. He has not offically accepted the offer because he recently had hear surgery and is currently waiting to be cleared by doctors. Despite what happened behind the scenes, I don’t know that I would be comfortable working for an organization that has no problem throwing me under the bus once our business endeavors ended.

Though it was inevitable that the Bulls would look for talent in other places since they have not won a championship under Thibs, the manner in which they did so is nothing short of unprofessional to me.
