NCAA

It is about damn time. The conversation about changing the rules and make up of NCAA basketball has been going on for some time now but it looks like a new day has finally come. According to reports, the NCAA will finally reduce the shot clock and number of timeouts a team has! Click more to check out the full story!

I was getting tired of having this same conversation every year before collegiate basketball starts up. The biggest thing that killed me about college ball was definitely the shot clock. A whole 35 seconds to score? The game was definitely too slow and had way too much dribbling going on. If the NCAA wanted to keep the game exciting, it was only right that they make some changes.

The college shot clock will go from 35 seconds to 30 seconds. It is still not the greatest; however, having the ball for over a half of a minute was ridiculous. I believe the 5 second reduction of the shot click will definitely enhance the game’s speed and make it more entertaining.

Also, the number of timeouts a team can take has been reduced as well. It will now go from 5 to 4 with only three being carried into the second half of the game. That is an interesting change that was mad and I’ll be curious about how coaches end up using these timeouts.

There could be more changes to the came to come but we will have to wait for the NCAA to announce them, if any.
