FX has teamed up with the famous director John Singleton to deliver a drama pilot called “Snowfall”.

John Singleton, writer and director of Boyz N The Hood will be directing the pilot based on the script he co-wrote with Eric Amadio.

The one-hour drama is set in Los Angeles in 1981 in the height of the crack cocaine epidemic and its impact on society. The story will follow three characters on a violent collision path. The main characters: Franklin Saint, a young street entrepreneur on a quest for the ultimate power. Gustavo Zapata, a Mexican wrestler-turned gangster in search of his version of the American dream. And Logan Miller, a prominent family’s “black sheep” desperate to escape his father’s shadow.

Singleton says:

“I have always been fascinated with that volatile moment in the time before crack changed everything. It’s a tense, insane and sexy era that touched every aspect of our culture.”

Scarier, President of the original programming FX Networks and FX Productions has stated that

“The pilot script by John and Eric brilliantly depicts the era through the story of three captivating characters, and we can’t wait to see John’s execution of it.”

So far Singleton has rallied up an interesting cast, DeRay Davis and Lauren London will be playing the roles as Jerome and Louie! The pilot is set for production this summer so we will just have to wait for the rest of the cast listings!
