The POTUS is in a tough spot when it comes to sports. President Obama is the first President in a very long time to have a true love of sports. With that said it’s hard for him to show favoritism all the time because he wants to keep all of America happy.

Two weeks ago, President Obama took some time out of his busy schedule to address an important issue – his thoughts on the NBA playoffs. Obama gave a non-answer about who would win the Finals then and in a recent interview with Extra, he gave a similar neutral answer.

“Too close to call right now. I think both teams are playing incredible basketball, Lebron is playing unbelievably, but Steph Curry, even though he’s had a couple of bad games, I’ve met him, he’s a wonderful young man, a deserving MVP. My sense is he’s gonna pick it back up, so who knows, but I’m sure enjoying watching it.”

Either Obama is salty that his Chicago Bulls weren’t able to defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers and didn’t want to openly pick the Golden State Warriors or he is just being a graceful politician by not choosing a side. Of course, by not picking a winner Obama won’t anger anyone which can come in handy when the winning team pays a visit to the White House. That way they won’t have a bone to pick with the President.

Perfect PC answer Sir. By the way, when asked about the Stanley Cup, he didn’t hesitate to pick his hometown Chicago Blackhawks.
