Yelawolf is currently on tour and his album Love Story has finally dropped. On the album he penned a track called ‘Empty Bottles’ where he shares his struggle with alcoholism. During his interview with ESPN’s hosts of Highly Questionable he opened up even further about his struggle.

When asked about what Eminem, who Yelawolf considers a mentor and friend, says about his drinking he replied,

“No one controls my drinking but me. I’m the only person that can control that. God himself could not control my drinking. I’m admittedly an alcoholic and it’s my problem.” He added,”I’m not proud of it but it’s in my genes. I do take breaks. I was sober for five months. That was my last sober streak. I’m back drinking again. It is what it is.”

He also said that Eminem is “absolutely supportive of sobriety,” but continued on to say that he’s not looking to be a role model and that he’s “not into sober life” and “sobriety sucks.”

The interview took a turn for the worse when the hosts asked him about his past beef with MGK. Yelawolf instantly shut them down with the reply, “Really? Next question.” The hosts recovered by asking him about his relationship.
