‘Jurassic World’ kills the box office with a record of $511.8 million in the global box office and $204.6 million in the U.S during the opening weekend. Read more on the story after the jump!

‘Jurassic World’ which is the fourth film in the series, dominated the 2015 U.S box office records in its debut weekend and earned an estimated $204.6 million. It also became the biggest global opening of all time with $511.8 million globally. The film is the second-highest opening of all time and is right behind “The Avengers” which made $207.4 million in 2012.

The PG-13 rated movie was made by Universal Pictures and Legendary for $150 million. It was directed by Colin Trevorrow and executive produced by Steven Spielberg. The movie “Spy” which stars Melissa McCarthy took the No. 2 spot during it’s second weekend in theaters with $16 million.
