It was a straight up MOVIE in Atlanta this past weekend. The best in the game were in attendance for Hot 107.9’s 20th Birthday Bash. An endless amount of lights from the stage as well as cameras and smartphones in the crowd illuminated the Philips Arena last night (June 20). As the bass-heavy tunes from the newest acts in hip-hop blasted through the speakers, the audience couldn’t wait to see ATL’s shining star Future perform live. Once he hit the stage, the Monster rapper blessed his hometown by bringing out a few friends like his touring partner Drake and more. Watch the performance in full after the jump!
Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 celebrated their 20th Birthday Bash right with a memorable performance from the show’s headliner, Future. Before the Freebandz founder took over the Philip Arena stage, Atlanta natives like Migos, B.o.B, Ludacris, and K Camp warmed up the crowd. They also experienced special performances from Kanye West, Wale, and newcomer D.R.A.M. For the grand finale, Future’s partner-in-crime DJ esco introduced Future to the stage with his well-known single “Chosen One.”
Future didn’t waste any time bringing out his all-star line up. First, he brought out Meek Mill to perform his single “Monster” and his most memorable hit “Dreams & Nightmares.” His wifey Nicki Minaj eventually joined on stage as well as his MMG label mate Wale. For the final surprise of the night, Future brought out his Jungle tour partner Drake to perform “Legend,” “My Way,” “Know Yourself,” and “Energy” before closing out with “F**k Up Some Commas.”

It’s nice to see this performance by Drake Meek Mill and Future. I think Drake did a good job interacting with the crowd as he does well. I like all of his songs off of his album “If You Are Reading This It Is Already Too Late.” His words relate to a lot of my situations I think about that are going on with me. I bet that girl in the front row that got a high five from Drake will never wash her hand ever again. I am unsure if she was on someone’s shoulders or standing on something. She did what it took though it looked like. Congrats to Future too, I thought he performed well too.
