Although he tried to deny it, Tuesday morning, Gov. Chris Christie made his way to his old high school in Livingston, New Jersey, where he shouted, “I am proud to announce my candidacy for Republican President of the United States of America.”

One of the few topics Christie discussed was popularity, and Foreign Policy, a subject he says, “we better not turn it over to his [Barack Obama] second mate, Hillary Clinton.”

An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released last week found that 55 percent of Republican primary voters said they could not see themselves supporting Christie.
