Congrats are in order for actress and singer Vanessa Williams, she jumped the broom on Saturday July 4th, with fiancé Jim Skrip in front of their family and friends. Details on the couple after the jump!
The actress and singer announced her engagement in September on The Queen Latifah Show. The couple met on a Nile cruise in 2013. Williams, whose mother is from Buffalo, approached Skrip because he was a wearing a Buffalo Sabres shirt. She asked him if he was from there, and the two hit it off.
“You never know what you’ll find and where you’ll find it. I was on vacation with my daughter going to Egypt, cruising on the Nile. I wasn’t looking for anything. I’d been alone for a number of years and divorced for 10 years at that time. Skrip accepted me for who I was after a wonderful first three-hour date of talking about ourselves. We found out we had a lot of things in common.” said Williams in an interview with Madame Noire.
This is the third marriage for Williams and she has four children with exes Ramon Hervey II and retired basketball star Rick Fox.
