Last month, New York rappers Joey Bada$$ and Troy Ave traded a few subliminals on Twitter about their “independent artist” status.

Appearing on Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning this week to promote the first annual #STEEZday concert (in honor of the birthday of the late Capital STEEZ of Joey‘s Pro Era crew,) the Brooklyn emcee said the following:

“We briefly spoke about it through mutual friends. It got squashed. Real beef doesn’t even exist today in the rap game.”
