Talk about Throwback Thursday! When’s the last time you heard of these two names together?! Back in the 90s, Kel Mitchell dominated Nickelodeon with his now-estranged best friend Kenan Thompson, starring on All That and its spinoff, Kenan & Kel, both produced by Dan Schneider. Their Good Burger movie involved Dan as well (considering it was from an All That sketch.)
Though Dan has never left the popular kids network – going on to produce shows like iCarly, Zoey 101, Victorious and more, it’s been over a decade since we’ve seen Kel’s face grace the Nickelodeon airwaves, but that will now change with a live-action sitcom named Game Shakers!

Game Shakers will focus on two 12-year-old girls who team up with a famous rapper named Double G (played by Kel) to start a multimillion-dollar gaming company.
In a statement to Variety, Schneider said:
“If someone were making a list of the top 10 funniest comedy actors today, Kel Mitchell easily makes that list. It’s a privilege to work with anyone that talented. It’s the same kind of feeling I’ve had in the past, working with entertainers like Jack Black and Jim Parsons. But with Kel, there’s also this great nostalgic feeling as we work together now.”
He was also asked about a potential Kenan & Kel reunion, and though he said:
“Almost nothing would excite me more than reuniting Kenan and Kel in a big way. People would go crazy to see them back together making great comedy again. It would be amazing because they’re as strong and talented as any male comedy duo that’s ever been. There’s been talk of various ways to bring Kenan and Kel back together. All I can say is, I can’t imagine anything more fun and exciting. I’m in!”
…I don’t see this happening any time soon. I know things were not good at ALL between these two behind-the-scenes, and Kenan is doing pretty good right now, so it’s not like he’d need the look.
