Just over one week after his dismissal from Florida State’s football program due to striking a woman at a Tallahassee bar on June 24, quarterback De’Andre Johnson expressed regret for his actions in an interview with Good Morning America.
Johnson sat with his mother while telling Michael Strahan there was no excuse for his actions
“There’s no explanation for that. I totally should have walked away. I am ashamed of that. I’m sorry. I apologize to the lady in the incident, to her family, to my family, to my mother. I know I wasn’t raised that way. If I could do it all over again, I would.”
Johnson, 19, was charged with misdemeanor battery and later was released on a $500 bond. He was originally suspended for a violation of athletic department policy, but after the video tape was released, the school announced he was being dismissed from the program. Johnson pleaded not guilty to the charge and is due in court on July 22.

Being on GMA is not a good look if your trying to pull off a Feel Bad Win Sympathy, which is only going to get the NCAA Angry Enough to go after Florida State, and it is not just over eroding Notre Dame and Clemson’s Actual Greatness. Okay, FSU keeps looking like Roses, Georgia can’t beat Kentucky, let alone Alabama, and Ohio State and Penn State haven’t truly fell off.
