The first photos for the upcoming film ‘Southside With You’ recently surfaced on the web. The photos feature Tika Sumpter and Parker Sawyers who play a younger Barack and Michele Obama. The movie is inspired by the first date the couple went on and chronicles time and events leading up to their wedding.

The film ‘Southside With You’ directed by Richard Tanne began production at the beginning of this month. We haven’t seen much from the film so far except a few photos of Tika Sumpter who will play Michele and Parker Sawyers who will play Barack strolling through a park.
The movie will re-crecte the Obama’s first date in 1989. During President Obama’s 2012 campaign he often spoke of the first date he had with his wife and it made a lasting impression on many. During the date a younger Barack took his future wife to get ice cream and see Do The Right Thing directed by Spike Lee. He even kissed her goodnight outside the ice cream parlor. Awwww!
Clearly Michele was impressed because the couple dated for three years and were married in 1992.
