Baron Davis hasn’t played in the NBA in three years. The last time he was on the court, for the Knicks, in the 2012 playoffs, he suffered several torn ligaments in his right knee. This, combined with the fact that he’s 36 years old, would make it seem like his playing days are over. But he’s not quite ready to hang up his jersey just yet, instead he eyes an NBA comeback.

Davis has been training in Los Angeles and told Sirius XM on Tuesday that he’s available if an NBA team wants to sign him.

“This is the first time I’m going to put myself out there, I’m going to try out for some teams,” said Davis.

At his age and with so much time off, it’s doubtful that he’ll be able to make much of an impact on the court in 2015. But if a team is looking for a veteran presence and an insurance policy at point guard for the end of the bench, there are plenty of worse options out there.
