When Nicki Minaj tweeted, “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year. Oh but trust me. I’ll be on that stage to collect my awards for vid of the year. Feeling Myself & Anaconda,” Taylor Swift took it as a personal attack against her.

And although no names were mentioned Taylor responded back to Nicki, “@NICKIMINAJ I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.”

Both artists proceeded to go back and forth with each other, and Nicki attempted to defend herself saying that she wasn’t talking about Taylor but more about the “white media and their tactics.” The feud ended, but that didn’t stop other celebs including Katy Perry, who is rumored to be an enemy of Swift, from chiming in. She said, “Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman…”

Thursday Taylor responded apologizing to Nicki Minaj. She said, “I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I’m sorry, Nicki. @NICKIMINAJ,”

Nicki has since responded saying, “That means so much Taylor, thank you. @taylorswift13.” She also added that she’s always loved Taylor and she wants to move on from the drama.

So nice they could make up, I guess that’s the end of that for now anyways, check back after the VMAs.
