Percy Harvin

Percy Harvin has confirmed fights with Doug Baldwin and Golden Tate when all three were wide receivers in Seattle, and Harvin says the problem stemmed from immaturity on the part of Baldwin and Tate.  Most people assume otherwise.

According to Harvin, as soon as the Seahawks traded for him and gave him a lucrative contract, Baldwin and Tate began whining.

“It was a constant thing,” Harvin told the Buffalo News. “It was something that got under my skin. I felt like they were acting like kids.”

Harvin, who is now with the Bills, says Baldwin and Tate didn’t want Harvin catching passes that otherwise would have gone to them.

Harvin says he hit Baldwin only after Baldwin repeatedly got in his face as Harvin tried to walk away from a dispute.

“Everybody calls him, ‘Tough Doug’ or ‘Angry Doug,’” Harvin said. “That was one of the times, he tried to use me to show he was a tough guy. I tried to walk away and he came back. It got messy. And I think what happened was the best for me.”

What eventually happened is that the Seahawks decided Harvin was more trouble than he was worth, and they traded him to the Jets. The fact that Harvin is now on his fourth different team suggests that Baldwin and Tate are far from the only ones who have had a problem with him.
