Sometimes jokes just are not funny, and especially ones that involve children. Comedian Julie Klausner, star of the new Hulu series Difficult People written by Amy Poehler, cracked a joke about Blue Ivy and now the entire show is under attack.

Klausner made a joke saying, “I can’t wait for Blue Ivy to be 18-years-old so R. Kelly can piss on her,” and now fans are calling for the show to be cancelled all together.

Although Amy Poelher wasn’t the one who actually said the joke, she’s also being slammed by critics for writing it. Klausner reached out to Entertainment Weekly and claimed that Amy Poelher was the one who write the joke. She said, “Amy could not have been more hands-on. She did not only give notes on every script, she gave notes on every draft of every outline. She weighed in on casting videos, cast roles. She weighed in on production matters,” adding, “She came up with the title. She would give notes on every single edit, not only of the shows but of the promos, the trailers. She would be involved in every stage of the process in a way that she would go above and beyond.”

Should the show be cancelled due to such an inappropriate joke or is that all part of comedy? Sound off in the comments.
