The internet is buzzing behind Def Jam‘s newest female artist Alessia Cara. Her debut EP Four Pink Walls is dropping on August 28. Alessia is doing a promo tour and went down under to Australia’s Channel V to perform an acoustic version of fellow Canadian, Drakes “Hotline Bling”. Hit the jump to watch her performance!
With a slowed down jazz feel and her sultry retro voice, make this version of Hotline Bling quite enjoyable. Accompanied by a guitarist and a drummer Alessia Cara’s performance is a great introduction to her sound for people who haven’t heard of the emerging Def Jam artist previously. Last week Alessia posted a picture of herself with Drake at the Squamish Festival and captioned it “Got the 6 God’s blessing. All is well. I can’t move my limbs.”
