This woman just got the “Wife of the Year” award over the weekend. Amber Watford, a 28 year-old woman from Alaska, stole a state trooper patrol car with her husband handcuffed in the backseat.Read more below.
When her husband Joshua was arrested for for failing to attend his court hearing for a DUI, authorities claims his wife Amber sprang into action. The arresting officer was distracted for a split second while a bystander tried to make small talk. Amber saw her window of opportunity and jumped into the drivers seat of the patrol car and sped away.
It took authorities several hours and the help of helicopter and a K-9 unit to find to couple. After a tip was called “Bonnie and Clyde” were apprehended. They were arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, hindering prosecution and criminal mischief.
Joshua remained in jail following the arrest and his wife, Amber has been cut loose. Her bail was set at $20,000.
