The newest internet rap sensation Slim Jesus from Hamilton, Ohio who became famous from his video Drill Time, has admitted in a VladTV interview that he has no criminal record, he has never killed anyone, but he likes to rap about guns. Click the jump to see the full interview.
The Drill Time video looks like Chief Keef’s accountant’s son shot a video in Chicago, with all of Chief Keef’s little homies being paid to play along with it. So I think everyone was skeptical about the young man’s street credibility. Sitting down with Vlad, he admits to enjoying drill rap, and wanting to make music just like Chief Keef and Lil Herb who are his idols.
With no criminal record and admitting to never killing anyone, then why rap about the gun culture? There are many misguided teenage boys out there that might follow suit. I personally had no problem with the guy until I found out it’s all just a fake persona because if you really lived that life then you are just telling stories about your past. Like Cam’Ron used to say, “rap is just the CNN of the hood.” If rap is the CNN of the hood, then Slim Jesus is more like a VH1 reality show. Someone might need to call Dame Dash because I smell a culture vulture is upon us.
