There’s nothing like showing support to your alma mater after you make it big.

As far as Wiz Khalifa is concerned, not only does he love his old high school, but he even pays homage to his former school, Taylor Allderdice High School, all of the time (hence where he got “Taylor Gang” from).

Although school has been in session for a few days already, it’s never too late to give back. The Taylor Gang head honcho surprised 1,000 lucky students from his old HS with $45,000 worth of new backpacks to start the school year off right.

“It feels awesome to be back at Allderdice,” Khalifa told a news outlet interviewing him about his generous donation. “I love my school. I love Pittsburgh. I love being able to spread some positivity and give kids some hope. I just wanted to tell them to be themselves,” he said. “Let them know they’re doing the right thing with their lives right now by going to school and dreaming big and just trying to figure it all out.”

Random fun fact: Mac Miller also went to the same high school as Wiz.
