Wow! Congratulations are in order for the Director of the N.W.A. biopic ‘Straight Outta Compton.’ F.Gary Gray has set a brand new record and career milestone by becoming the highest-grossing Black director for a single film in domestic sales.

‘Straight Outta Compton’ has reportedly reportedly grossed $157.5 million in the U.S and Canada. With this achievement Gray has surpassed fellow black directors, Keenen Ivory Wayans, whose Scary Movie film raked in $157 million back in 2000, and Tim Story’s $154.6 million with Fantastic Four in 2005.
