Cincinnati quarterback, Gunner Kiel, was awake and moving some of his limbs last night in the hospital after taking a vicious hit on the field. Players immediately knew it was bad as they motioned for medical personnel to race onto the field.

Kiel was stretchered off in the first quarter against Memphis after taking a nasty shot to the head and suffered a neck injury according to head coach Tommy Tuberville.

After calling his own number, Kiel was hammered mid-slide by Tigers defensive back Chauncey Lanier, who was initially ejected for targeting before referees overturned the call upon video review.

As you can see, it was a very scary moment but the play itself by the defender was not dirty. It was reported later at night he was able to fly back on the team plane with the rest of his teammates.
