Aside from concentrating on this upcoming season, Derrick Rose has been forced to focus his energy on claims that he and two of his friends allegedly gang rapped an ex-girlfirned of his. Today, during The Bulls media conference, Derrick was questioned about the open case and he expressed that he would found innocent.
I understand that in this day, we are not supposed to question the decision of women who claim to have been raped, especially considering the revelations that have come from the Bill Cosby scandal, but…the allegations against Derrick Rose are just–personally–so hard to believe. The accusations against him are not hard to believe because of the good standing D.Rose has in the public eye, but more so because of the nature of the claims.
Anyway, today, Derrick addressed the claims and he was completely confident that he would be found innocent once everything has been resolved.
D.Rose On Rape Allegations:
“I will be proven innocent…the suit hasn’t affected anything. It’s not true. I take it as motivation. I feel like the devil’s just working. I feel like I’m on the right I’m right track as far as where I want to be at in my life and the direction I want to go. And I just feel like when you’re that focused people try to take you down, so I’m very confident that I will be proven innocent.”
From the outside looking in, the story just sounds so far fetched. Nonetheless, D.Rose hopes that his story and case can be a model for players around the league. Derrick hopes that players will learn to keep their circles tighter; however, being at the level they are, I would think that way thinking is common.
